convenient and fascinating destinations. We’re only about 20 miles from Boston.

The commute to Boston in the height of rush hour traffic is about one hour by car. Marblehead is fortunate to have convenient
access to transportation services including train, MBTA  and air. And we’re on the convenient side of
Logan International Airport.
The commuter rail to North Station in Boston can be picked up in Salem (It’s about a 12 minute ride to the station and the train
ride to Boston is about a 35 minute ride) or in Swampscott (about 27 minutes to Boston). You can take the Blue Line of the MBTA
subway (we call it "The ") into Boston from Wonderland Station in
Revere. This station is a 30 minute ride from Marblehead and it’s about a 17 minute ride
from Wonderland to Government Center.

Bus service is available to Swampscott, Lynn and Boston. And there is special service called "The Ride" available for the
elderly and challenged.
In addition to Logan International Airport, Beverly Municipal Airport is open to smaller planes.
Boston is a world-class city known for its business and cultural centers...theaters, restaurants, museums, colleges and
universities.
Marblehead is also fortunate to be next door to another cultural city, the City of Salem. Right across the town line, there is
Salem State College, the Peabody-Essex Museum — the
largest and oldest private museum in the country, filled with riches from the Clipper Ship days when Salem Harbor was busier and
more prosperous than Boston Harbor — , the House of Seven Gables, Pioneer Village, the Salem
Maritime National Historic Site, the Witch Museum, the Pirate Museum, shopping, restaurants, hotels and more.
Three major shopping malls are within 20 to 30 minutes of Marblehead.
When it comes to healthcare, the town is conveniently located near two major hospitals. |
